Ballycuggaran Loop and East Clare Way

This Loop starts near Two Mile Gate where we’ll go by boat is the weather allows us, otherwise we take the car for 10 minutes.

The Trailhead is situated in the homeland of the O’Cuggarans, an important family at the court of Brian Boru.

The first part of the walk we'll follow the Ballycuggaran Loop.

The walk is overlooking Lough Derg, the Annacarriga valley and the hills that stretch from Caherhurley to Ogonnelloe.

On the way back a trail comes up on our right, following part of the East Clare Way that brings us back to Killaloe.

This hike is about 12 km long and of moderate difficulty.
It will take close to 5 hours of walking through the woods of Feenlea Mountain where sceneries are breathtaking.
