The Irish weather is often portrayed as cold and wet. In the west side the annually rainfall is between 750 and 1000 millimeters.

There are many hours of sunshine, though temperatures in Southern Ireland will never be very high. In the summer it is between 18 and 20 degrees C°.
In winter it is about 8 degrees C°.

May and June are often good months, like September and October. It is often foggy. This partly explains the mystique of Ireland. Distorted light and fog creates a different experience. It can be beautiful like in a fairytale.

The weather is something to mind during a holiday in Ireland. Especially when you go fishing or practice other activities, it is advisable to bring good rain clothes, but also sufficiently short trousers.

It can blow hard, especially on open plains and in the hills. The wind comes from different directions, as Ireland is an island with on one side the Irish Sea on the other the great Atlantic ocean. Wind is a big factor. The wind is often strong.

The Irish weather can be treacherous. It can quickly turn and can be cold and wet.
It appears that in two hours time you can experience all season weather, hail, snow, rain, fog, sun and more.
